Information about additional data field:

We have identified an additional data field, SSF25, or Stage Descriptor, that is necessary for reporting some tumors. This field is needed for the software to identify the appropriate values for you to choose in the staging fields.

Tumors at the following anatomic sites require you to complete a code other than 988:

• Bile Ducts (Distal & Perihilar)
• Cystic Duct
• Esophagus/GE Junction
• Lacrimal Gland
• Lacrimal Sac
• Melanoma of the Iris
• Melanoma of the Ciliary Body
• Nasopharynx
• Peritoneum
• Peritoneum Female
• Pharyngeal
• Stomach
• Tonsil

For these tumor sites, please review your options carefully and choose the code which best describes the tumor you are reporting.

You must complete this data field to release these cases to the MCR.

For other tumor sites, the data field is not necessary; please complete Stage Descriptor with 988.
